My cell phone skins business story

Right now I am the owner of a mobile accessories store in the center of the city. Each day the profit can be ranging from 300 to 1,000 US dollars which makes me really satisfied. All of the change start from last year, when I purchased the DIY cell phone skins software, machines and sticker papers from DAQIN. From that time on, I start the business of making and selling phone skins for any model mobile phone in my mobile accessories store. The DIY phone skin business brings more customer flow and increased the sales volume of the screen protectors, power banks, mobile cases, earphones...etc.

However, back to 10 years ago in 2006, I was sitting alone on the side of the street, thinking about why nobody buy my products. By that time I was dreaming to have my own store, but the fact is that I have nothing but a lot of small toys that nobody buy. I moved frequently to many places, such as near kindergarten, school, super market, computer center...etc. One day, I came across with a young man who stick screen protectors for the customers. People seems crazy for his screen protector. There crowed of people wait in front of his booth for hours to get their mobile phone applied with clear screen protectors. It’s 2 dollars for each screen protector, a reasonable price indeed. Later I learn that the cost for each screen protector is less than 0.1 US dollars, what a joke! Soon I joined the screen protector business which earns a lot of money in 3 months. I buy A4 size screen protector sheets, and then manually cut them into a shape that fit with each model of mobile phone. Actually it’s not that easy, still, it cost me about a week to get familiar with using the knife cut perfect screen protectors.

The situation changed quickly, soon there are more and more people join me, providing the service of manually stick screen protector for any mobile phone. Due to competition, the price reduce gradually. At last it becomes 0.1 US dollars, which can hardly earn money any more.

I know it’s time to make a change, I must sell something competitive which is my competitors can’t sell. DIY phone skin is exactly what I am looking for. People can use their personal photo to make mobile skin. Such customized product has more value than those common plastic mobile cases.Most importantly, it has been proved that young people like DIY phone skins and they can afford a 4 US dollars mobile skin in my store. Thanks to DAQIN, now I am satisfied with my business and plan to open a new store in other district of the city.
